• WordPress 2.8.1 Already Released

  It didn’t take long for the bugs to get reported and fixed or worked around in WordPress version 2.8. Below is the release right from the WordPress website. It suggests that you upgrade from 2.8 to 2.8.1 as soon as possible to be safe. But I have already found a bug that will block assess to the AdSense Deluxe plugin leaving me to wonder what else is wrong? So I don’t know about this version, I guess upgrade at your own risk orwait it out.

  There may be certain situations when you will want to remove the title of the page that appears just above the actual content on WordPress pages. The placement and look of the page title is theme specific and you might want to remove it if you are using static front page option or just want a page on your blog that looks a little different than the rest of your WordPress pages.

  Since WordPress now has built-in tagging you might still need to add some code to older WordPress themes to get tags to show on your posts. Adding tags on your WordPress theme should be a pretty easy task.

  Adding the sidebar to the WordPress default theme is really pretty easy but you may have missed one more step to have the single post page show the background in the sidebar. The WordPress default theme was written to not show the sidebar on the single post page. Because of that it specifies one background image for the main index that shows the gray background in the sidebar. And another image for the single post page with no background in the sidebar area. The version of the default theme you have determines what image background to use. But don’t worry you will see what image to use right in the header.php file.
