Why w:WP Was Created

Workflow: WordPress was created by Pariah S. Burke (me). First I built GurusUnleashed.com as a service not only by me but also for me. As someone who is not only a creative pro software author, consultant, trainer, and fan, but also a freelance graphic and Web designer, I need to keep up with the latest news and information about Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, InCopy, QuarkXPress, Acrobat, Fireworks, WordPress, photography, typography, Web design, graphic design, publishing, and many other applications and technologies.

But that information is published across thousands of sites, by thousands of writers, every week. I just don't have the time to visit every site and check for new articles. Moreover, searching for that information in search engines was a terrible waste of my time--most results returned are irrelevant false positives. I spent less time reading, digesting, and utilizing good info and more time combing through search results and weeding out the bad information and poor instruction to get to the good information and good instruction.

I built GurusUnleashed.com, then WorkflowFreelance.com, and ultimately the entire Workflow Network, of which this site is a part, to collect and categorize all the information creative professionals—like me, like you—need. I could then get all the information I need in one place, categorized according to the creative pro subjects I require. In other words: w:WP and it's sister sites prevents the critical information creative professionals need from slipping through the cracks.

Although w:WP may appear at first blush to be fully automated, it isn't. I'm here every single day. Every publication and writer you find on w:WP is handpicked. If I'm not adding or refining a new feature, tweaking the code, checking for broken links, or adding new writers and publications, I'm reading the latest articles and tutorials right alongside the thousands of readers like you who follow on WorkflowWP.com, Twitter.com, or by e-mail and RSS.
